The Virginia Boat Club (VBC) is a private, not-for-profit organization with the mission of promoting rowing in Greater Richmond, VA area. VBC offers members the opportunity to enjoy miles of scenic recreational and competitive rowing on the James River, and participate in local, regional, and national regattas. In addition, VBC hosts two regattas each year - Rocketts Landing Sprints and the Head of the James. Our members have a wide variety of experience (ranging from novices to former national champions), and we welcome all of those interested in rowing. For more information on learning how to row, see our Learn-to-Row and Sculling Lessons programs. Another way to get involve is to become a coxswain - the leader of the boat and rowing's equivalent to the quarterback. See our Coxswain Program for more details. Information on the Club's safety guidelines, boathouses, equipment (shells), and history is provided below. |
