Busy Race Weekend for VBC

Leeds Nudd at Head of the HoochRICHMOND, VA  November 3, 2008 - VBC had a busy weekend participating in two of the larger head races of the season.  Leeds Nudd put in a very strong performance in the Head of the Hooch in Chatanooga, TN, placing 4th overall in the Mens Championship 1x out of a field of 18 college and club scullers.  With a time of 19:32.1, Leeds was within 3.7% of the winning time and 3.9 seconds off of the third place time.  Leeds will race again in the coming Head of the South next weekend.

Head of the Occoquan

The VBC Mens 4+ finished their season with a second place finish in the Head of the Occoquan.  VBC's time (18:18.7133) was within 1.4% (15.3 seconds) of the first place boat from Potomac Boat Cub (18:03.3767) - a variation of the Potomac BC boat that won the Mens 4+ C event at the USRowing Masters National Championship earlier this year.
